ICE Raid In Ventura County CA Brings Out Armed Protestor Who Fired At Agents
Federal immigration agents, supported by National Guard troops, executed a large-scale raid on July 10, 2025, at Glass House Farms, a state-licensed cannabis cultivation facility in Camarillo, Ventura County, California, as part of broader enforcement operations targeting undocumented workers in agricultural sites.
Glass House Farms, touted as the world's largest cannabis grower with over 5 million square feet of space, operates legally under California law but remains subject to federal scrutiny since marijuana is illegal at the national level.
During the raid, agents discovered 10 undocumented juveniles working at the site—eight of them unaccompanied minors—prompting an immediate investigation into child labor violations at the farm, though no prior reports indicated how authorities initially suspected underage employment. The operation quickly escalated as hundreds of protesters, including family members of detained workers, gathered to block roads and confront agents, leading to clashes where federal personnel deployed tear gas, smoke canisters, and less-lethal rounds to disperse the crowd.
Amid the chaos, video footage captured a protester appearing to fire a pistol at ICE agents around 2:26 p.m., an incident now under FBI investigation with a $50,000 reward offered for information leading to the suspect's conviction; no agents were injured by gunfire, but several protesters required medical treatment for exposure to irritants. The raid resulted in dozens of detentions, including workers and some protesters, and drew sharp criticism from California officials like Governor Gavin Newsom, who decried the "inhumane" tactics, and Representative Salud Carbajal, who was denied access to a related site in nearby Carpinteria.
This event fits into a pattern of intensified immigration sweeps under the Trump administration, sparking lawsuits from local governments alleging unconstitutional practices and heightening fears in immigrant communities across Southern California. One farmworker reportedly suffered grave injuries after falling from a greenhouse during the operation, though details remain unconfirmed, underscoring the human toll of such enforcement actions.
There is a scheduled protest by Anti ICE activists at 3 pm PT, in front of the city hall to demand that ICE agents leave the community.
DOJ Announces Lawsuit Against State Of California Over Title IX

On July 9, 2025, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced a Department of Justice lawsuit against California's Department of Education and Interscholastic Federation, alleging that the state's policies allowing transgender girls to compete in girls' high school sports violate Title IX by discriminating against female athletes and denying them equal opportunities.
Title IX, a 1972 federal civil rights law, prohibits sex-based discrimination in any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance, and the DOJ argues California's approach ignores biological differences in favor of gender identity, thus breaking this statute.
While the suit centers on athletic participation rather than bathrooms, Bondi's broader message in related announcements has highlighted concerns over transgender access to women's restrooms and locker rooms as part of the administration's push against such policies.
California officials, including Governor Gavin Newsom's spokesperson Elana Ross, have responded by asserting that no court has adopted the federal government's interpretation of Title IX and that the state follows existing laws, refusing to "wave a magic wand" to override them. Attorney General Rob Bonta has committed to defending the state's laws, emphasizing the protection of all students, including transgender youth, from discrimination and harassment.
Texas Flash Flood Death Toll Climbs, As Emergency Crews Ramp Up Search And Rescue

A catastrophic flash flood ravaged Central Texas Hill Country beginning on July 4, 2025, when a slow-moving storm dumped up to 15 inches of rain in a few hours, causing the Guadalupe River to rise 26 feet in just 45 minutes and sweeping through communities, summer camps, and campsites with devastating speed.
The disaster has claimed at least 121 lives, including young girls attending Camp Mystic summer camp who were asleep when floodwaters engulfed their cabins, and left more than 160 people unaccounted for, with search and rescue operations involving firefighters from Mexico ongoing as bodies may take months to recover due to the rugged terrain and scattered remains.
Many residents and visitors were caught unprepared because the heaviest rain fell overnight and early morning, when people were asleep, and while the National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings and a rare "flash flood emergency" alert, local officials noted the area's limited emergency communication infrastructure may have delayed widespread notifications, exacerbating the chaos.
Allegations have emerged that President Trump's administration cuts to federal agencies like NOAA and the National Weather Service including a $150 million reduction in weather forecasting programs pushed by Sen. Senator Ted Cruz in a recent spending bill, may have contributed to inadequate preparation and response, with critics from Democrats and some experts arguing these reductions weakened forecasting accuracy and staffing, potentially leaving gaps in timely alerts, though no direct causal evidence has been established and the administration quickly declared a major disaster area.
The event has prompted calls for enhanced funding and technology for weather monitoring, as climate experts warn such extreme precipitation events could become more common, underscoring the human toll on families and reigniting debates over federal versus state disaster management. President Trump is scheduled a visit to Kerr County on July 11 to assess damage firsthand, amid ongoing relief efforts that have rescued over 850 individuals.

Suspects Arrested After Attempting To Ambush And Kill ICE Agents

On July 4, 2025, a group of approximately 11 individuals, dressed in black military-style clothing, executed a planned ambush at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, beginning around 10:37 p.m. by launching fireworks toward the facility to lure out unarmed ICE correctional officers while others vandalized vehicles with anti-ICE graffiti such as "Ice pig" and "traitor."
As officers responded, one assailant positioned in nearby woods shot an arriving Alvarado police officer in the neck, while a second gunman fired 20 to 30 rounds at the correctional officers, though no additional injuries occurred beyond the officer's wound, from which he is expected to recover.
The attackers fled in vehicles but were quickly apprehended nearby, with authorities recovering AR-15-style rifles, body armor, spray paint, fireworks, and materials like flyers proclaiming "fight ice terror with class war free all political prisoners," suggesting motives rooted in opposition to immigration enforcement amid broader protests against the Trump administration's policies.
Ten suspects were arrested and charged federally with three counts each of attempted murder of a federal officer and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, while an 11th individual, Daniel Rolando Sanchez, faces obstruction of justice charges for attempting to destroy evidence; local charges include terrorism. One suspect, Benjamin Song, remains at large and has been added to Texas' 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list, with the FBI leading the ongoing investigation into what officials describe as a targeted attack on law enforcement.
MAGA Base Upset As Trump Admin ‘Concludes’ Epstein Files Case

The U.S. Department of Justice and FBI released a two-page memo on July 7, 2025, concluding an exhaustive review of Jeffrey Epstein's files, stating there is no evidence of a "client list," blackmail material, or foul play in his 2019 death, which was reaffirmed as suicide, marking a significant debunking of long-circulating conspiracy theories.
This announcement, issued under President Trump's second administration, represents a stark departure from earlier messaging by allies like Attorney General Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, and Dan Bongino, who had hinted at major revelations, leading to accusations from critics that the administration initially amplified unsubstantiated narratives for political gain, or that this implicates a potential ‘cover-up’ within this administration, for reasons unknown.
Republicans and the MAGA base have reacted with fury, viewing the findings as a betrayal that undermines their beliefs in a deep-state cover-up involving high-profile figures, with some influencers and supporters openly criticizing Trump for failing to deliver on promised exposures and even calling for resignations within his administration. Prominent voices like Rep. Tim Burchett have suggested the files were destroyed, fueling further distrust and fracturing within the conservative ranks.
Amid this backlash, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, a staunch Trump supporter and former media personality, took a vacation day on July 11, 2025, following reported clashes with Bondi over the Epstein handling, sparking speculation that he may have quit or been sidelined.
